Each year, a total of 300 places are up for grabs for international students eager to study Medicine at the Medical University of Sofia.
- Dental Medicine | Dentistry in English program is a comprehensive five and a half yearsstudy program. Costing €9,000 annually, the program includes an internship, giving students invaluable practical experience. A total of 150 places are available each year for international students.
- Pharmacy in English study program takes five years to complete and has a tuition fee of €6,000 annually.There are 65 places annually offered for international students in Pharmacy at the Medical University of Sofia.
When applying to Sofia Medical University, applicants should be aware of several non-refundable administrative fees:
- Prospective students should be aware of a €40.00 fee for the submission of documents.
- Additionally a €200.00 fee is charged for the first entrance exam.

Sofia Medical University Application Process | Admission and Entry Requirements
The application process involves submitting a set of documents, including:

- copy of your diploma
- copy of Diploma’s marks
- certificate from secondary school
- health certificate
- copy of passport
- passport photos
The entry requirements for Medicine, Dentistry, or Pharmacy at Sofia Medical University require that you have completed secondary education, obtained a Diploma/School Leaving Certificate, and sat for an admission test in Biology and Chemistry. Non-EU citizens must have a 62% average or above in Chemistry and Biology.
The admission timeline for EU, EEC, and citizens from Switzerland runs from mid-July to mid-September, with entrance exams typically occurring shortly after. The ranking of candidates is based on high school grades in Biology and Chemistry and their final entry test score. Term Dates of Medical University of Sofia
At MU Sofia, the academic year for first-year students in Medicine, Dental Medicine, and Pharmacy programs taught in English commences in October. The winter semester runs from 24th October 2022 to 10th February 2025, followed by the January Exam session from 13th February 2025 to 24th February 2025. The summer semester spans from 27th February 2025 to 9th June 2025, concluded with the June Exam Session starting 13th June 2025 to 14th July 2025, and the September Resit Exam Session from 28th August 2025 to 15th September 2025.
